Pool Cues
Regulation Pool Cues
Although one piece pool cues are still available, most pool
cues these days are two piece cues(split in two) where the bottom
( fat part ) screws into the top part
(skinny part - the part with the tip). The two piece helps the
cue from warping.
The minimum width allowed for the cue tip is 9mm with a maximum
cue tip of 14mm. Snooker cues regularly have smaller tips and
Straight pool cues ( eight Ball, Nine Ball etc.) have thicker
cue tips. There is no minimum weight for pool cue.The maximum
allowed weight for a pool cue is 25 ounces. The minimum length
is 40 inches and there is no regulation maximum length, in fact,
very often Snooker players will attach an add-on to their pool
cues to reach long shots on a 12 foot pool table ( most commonly
used with an extended rest ). The most common length for a pool
cue is 57 inches.
